Hi! I’m Mary, founder of The Cotswild Coach — and I’m here to help you Find Your Path in the Wild. Many of us feel disconnected from nature and spend far more time indoors than we’d like. My coaching blends movement with meaningful conversation, using the outdoors as a space to think clearly, breathe deeply and reconnect with joy.
I’ve lived in the Cotswolds for more than a decade and have explored many of its beautiful trails on foot and on horseback. Being outside helps me focus, relax and tune into what really matters — and I design my coaching sessions to give you the chance to experience the same benefits.
My personal values are kindness, gratitude, integrity, family, persistence and learning. These guide my warm, empathetic style and help me shape just the right level of challenge for each session so you can make real, sustainable progress.
Since graduating in 2004, I’ve worked briefly in the private sector before building a career in the civil service, holding roles in HR, Project Management, Strategy and Transformation. More recently, I’ve led high-performing teams and developed a passion for representation and inclusion in the workplace.
I trained as an Executive Coach with the Academy of Executive Coaching (AOEC) and have supported coaching clients since 2022. I’m a member of the Association for Coaching. I work holistically because I believe the most meaningful change comes from considering the whole person, not just the problem in front of them.
I became a coach because I love helping people find their own answers to the challenges life places in their path. Combining coaching with my belief in the power of nature led me to offer 1:1 walking coaching — either in person here in the Cotswolds or remotely via “We Walk, You Talk.”
If you’re local, join me for a session at Crickley Hill Country Park, where we walk through ancient beech woodlands and along the escarpment, taking in sweeping views across Cheltenham and beyond. These hills have been home to people since the Neolithic, making them the perfect place to reconnect with nature — with the welcome convenience of parking, toilets and a great café.
For those who prefer to stay inside or live further afield, I also offer coaching via Google Meet.
I’ve recently expanded my skill set by becoming a Wildstrong Certified Trainer. This approach focuses on building strength and mobility for life, in my 'Wild' movement classes I nurture supportive communities, and we reconnect with the outdoors — sometimes in the wind and rain, sometimes watching the sunrise or under the stars!
From spring 2026, I’ll be offering year-round outdoor group movement sessions to help you build confidence, resilience and sustainable healthy habits. Community is at the heart of these sessions, with peer coaching and mutual support helping everyone grow.
Once you’ve worked with me 1:1 or taken part in a Wild movement class, I'll invite you to join an optional Action Learning Group. These are small groups, facilitated by me, that meet online, so clients from across the country can collaborate, support each other, and share their vast collective experience to work on whatever problem is challenging them at the time and help others do the same. It’s a more affordable route into coaching or a great way to continue developing after your 1:1 coaching sessions end.
Curious about any of the above? I’d love to hear from you.
